NINER Restaurant Opens for Sunday Dinners Executive Chef Maegen Loring takes inspiration from local ingredients for a series of seasonally-inspired Pop-Up dinners this August

(PASO ROBLES, Calif.) – Niner Wine Estates and chef Maegen Loring transforms Central Coast wine country dining into a singular experience this August with a series of Sunday night Pop-Up Dinners at the winery’s new restaurant. Chef Loring has remodeled and expanded the winery’s regular lunch menu to craft a different experience each week that highlights seasonal, local ingredients in an absolutely indulgent manner.

“We want a night where we can go completely off-the-wall with dishes” says Chef Loring. “We want to create a Sunday night community around local food and wine where diners can always find something new and exciting.”

In addition to the Pop-Up Dinners, Niner Wine Estates has scheduled numerous cooking classes and food & wine pairings to further showcase Chef Loring’s talents (full schedule below).

At the Pop-Up dinners, Chef Loring’s multiple-course menus will be served family style at special farm tables in Niner’s restaurant and tasting room. Besides serving their own estate-grown wines, the winery has invited other local suppliers like breweries, cider producers and craft-distillers to feature their products at a reception prior to dinner, where guests will be treated to a pairing of appetizers with local beverages.

“Partnering with another local producer expands the community even more” says Chef Loring. “It highlights the Central Coast products we’re lucky enough to enjoy, and it gives me a chance to introduce our guests to other items through a unique, one-of-a-kind pairing.”

Niner’s restaurant now offers full lunch service Thursday through Sunday. And to further emphasize their “estate-grown” philosophy, the winery plans to install a half-acre permaculture garden this fall to supply the restaurant and support Chef Loring’s obsession with hyper-local ingredients.

“We only make wine from grapes we farm ourselves, so it makes sense to create dishes from ingredients we grow ourselves,” says proprietor Andy Niner. “We’re about to harvest a quarter acre of dry-farmed wheat we planted earlier this summer (to make bread for the restaurant), we have estate chickens that provide eggs, and we’re looking at ways we can bring even more ingredients to our estate property.”

Pop-Up dinners will be held on select weekends in August and cost $50 per person and $40 for industry and hospitality members. Cost includes full menu and wine service. Full menus and a local producer list can be found on the winery’s website at www.ninerwine.com.

The Paso Robles Chamber is an association of businesses and individuals organized to promote the economic vitality of the greater Paso Robles community. Should there be more restaurants in wineries, I wonder?
