I’m not sure how long Pomar Junction Winery has been doing these Train Wreck Friday music nights but I can say this was our first one. I’m glad we finally made it out because we had a blast. They do it every other week and it’s set up on the patio/ deck area next to the tasting room overlooking vineyards.
This night it was the Mighty Croon Dogs performing and Stein’s Catering was there with some seriously good food. Annie’s mom met us out there so between the three adults and Sammy, we ordered the burrito, the pulled pork sandwich, and the tri-tip sandwich to share. It’s super tough for me to pick a favorite since I thought each was amazing. I’d happily order any of them again.
As for the wine, we did by the glass and bottle thing. The Roussanne and Rose were my favorites of the evening. The wine and food helped keep us warm too. It was a windy, chilly evening with a threat of possible sprinkles but the rain never materialized. The crowd wasn’t as big as it normally is due to that but it was still decent.
The added clouds rolling around added for some fun photo-ops for me though. You’ll see how beautiful it was in the slideshow below. That about wraps it up. I strongly encourage you to get out to one of their Train Wreck’s this season. It really is a great venue, you feel far away from “everyday life” when you’re at Pomar. You can check the schedule here as well as see who the upcoming groups are.
