Wine Tasting: Timbre Winery in Arroyo Grande

August 7, 2017 matt 2 Comments

We were in Arroyo Grande over the weekend and had heard good things about Timbre Winery so decided to stop in and check them out after lunch. The place is super quaint, they’ve done a great job with it. There are several places you can taste, from out front on the patio to a private room inside to the actual tasting bar. It flowed quite nicely.

Chiasa, one of the founders, had her two kids in there and we had Sammy with us. Turns out they have a play room for their kids and Alex, her boy, invited Sammy to go play. That worked out well and was super cool of them. A very laid back atmosphere. You feel like you’re just hanging out at a friend’s house. Thank you to Chiasa, Alex, and Lily for being so cool with Sammy.

So…let’s get down to business.

Here’s what we tasted:

2016 Timbre Rose (Bien Nacido, Presqu’ile, & Mission Ranch Vineyards) – Opening Act – $18.00

2014 Dr. Klapper Riesling (Riverbench Vineyards) $24.00

2013 Timbre Chardonnay (Bien Nacido Vineyard) – Lead Vocals – $36.00

2014 Timbre Chardonnay (Bien Nacido & Sierra Madre Vineyards) – A Cote – $24.00

2013 Timbre Pinot Noir (Bien Nacido, Presqu’ile, & Riverbench Vineyards) – Supergroup – $30.00

2013 Timbre Pinot Noir (Bien Nacido Vineyard) – Lead Vocals – $45.00

2013 Timbre Pinot Noir (Aubaine Vineyard) – Guest Star – 50.00

2014 Timbre Pinot Noir (John-Sebastiano Vineyard) – The Hi-Hat – $50.00

2012 Timbre Pinot Noir (Presqu’ile Vineyard) – The Headliner – $45.00

2009 La Fenetre Syrah (Bien Nacido Vineyard) $60.00

2010 La Fenetre Syrah (Alisos Vineyard) $36.00

As you can tell as you read through that list they are sourcing from some seriously amazing vineyards. That always makes for a great start. A solid, well-rounded line up of wines. As a Pinot Noir addict…they made me quite happy. We walked away with the Opening Act, A Cote, Supergroup, and Headliner. This is one of those spots we will absolutely be back to. If we had more time while we were there I would have loved to enjoy a glass of wine on the front patio and watch the big city of Arroyo Grande roll by.

Be sure to check them out. They’re on the main drag in downtown A.G., 225 E. Branch St. You won’t be disappointed! Thank you again to Chiasa and her kids as well as Anne, who poured for us. We had a great time. Cheers!
