So, what are you doing to celebrate the 4th of July this year? If you’re in Paso Robles it sounds like there’s only one place to be and that’s at the Paso Robles Event Center for Paso Pops. This event has everything, kind of like a loaded burger from your favorite burger shop. If you don’t believe me just check out this link. If you’re too lazy to click the link, here are some of the things happening at Paso Pops:
Kids area will have a musical petting zoo provided by San Luis Obispo Symphony, toy play area provided by Kahootz Toys and Toy Crazy, coloring station, face painting by A Dream Party, and more.
Helm & Sons Amusements will be providing Amusements & Attractions from 4pm until the fireworks begin.
Rhone Rangers Paso Robles Chapter walk-around wine tasting featuring the following wineries: Ascension Cellars, Caliza Winery, Cass Winery, Clavo Cellars, Copia, Dilecta, Ecluse, Epoch, Four Lanterns, Hope Family Wines, ONX, Ranchero Cellars, Sculpterra, Steinbeck, Summerwood, Tablas Creek, Tooth & Nail, Vigo Cellars, Volatus, Zenaida, and more.
Food – Higgie’s World BBQ, Pizza La Nova, Shave N Flav, G Brothers Smokehouse, Kona Ice of SLO North County, Kettle Corn, and more.
Fireworks!
As you can see, there’s a lot going on. There are a few things that stand out to me about this event.
One, the focus on family friendly. That’s something I think the folks in Paso Robles do so well. This is a community of families and the event organizers in our area do a great job catering to that.
Two, the focus on music and the fact that this is a Paderewski Festival related event. If you don’t know anything about the life and legacy of Ignacy Paderewski, you can learn about him here. He really lived an incredible life.
Three, as a wine lover (and a Rhone wine lover) it’s cool to see the Paso Robles Rhone Rangers involvement with this event. They have a good list of Paso wines that will be there for your adult beverage pleasure.
Another cool thing to see is that the prices to get in to the event, in my opinion, are quite reasonable. Kids under 12 are free, general admission is $20.00 unless you are senior or military in which case it’s $10.00. There are a couple of other ticket options, check here for those https://www.eventbrite.com/e/2018-paso-pops-tickets-44715413004#tickets .
Get out there, folks. This is going to be a wonderful 4th of July event here in Paso Robles. A unique Paso party in wine country. Plus, it benefits the Paderewski Festivals in our area. Here’s a blurb from their website:
“Donations that support of the future of Paderewski Festivals in Paso Robles are always greatly appreciated and most welcome by this completely volunteer run organization. One hundred percent of all donations will go to the Paderewski Festival. Net proceeds from Paso Pops benefit local youth arts and music programs.”
If you want to donate, you can do that here.
Side Note: You have to buy your own alcoholic drinks at the event, no alcohol can be brought in and they will be checking.
