We’ve tried a C. Nagy wine here and there but never had their full lineup. On a recent visit down to the Santa Maria/ Orcutt area we made it a point to stop in and see our buddy James, who works for C. Nagy.
First, you can learn about Clarissa Nagy, here.
Second, here’s what we tasted:
2015 Viognier – Whitehawk Vineyard
2017 Gewurtztraminer – Alisos vineyard
2017 Rosé of Pinot Noir – Swan Clone – Nielson Vineyard
2016 Grenache – Alisos Vineyard
2014 Pinot Noir – 50/50 blend – clone 777 (Garey Ranch Vineyard) Pommard Clone (Riverbench Vineyard)
2013 Pinot Noir – Clone 777 – Garey Ranch Vineyard
2013 Syrah – Whitehawk Vineyard
I’ll just go ahead and say it, the wines are fantastic. On this visit we walked away with Gewurtztraminer, Rose, Pinot Noir, and Grenache. If you haven’t been you need to make it happen. James knows his stuff and he’s a cool guy to hang out with. The tasting room is comfortable and fun to be in. The wines are great.
Side note, I’m keeping these types of blog posts short and sweet at this point. I’m not a wine writer, I just like what I like and want to promote those things. Cheers!
