Annie and I used to enjoy going upstairs to the Cattlemen’s Lounge, above the Paso Robles Inn & Steakhouse, before we had Sammy. We’d sit out on the patio that looks down on Spring St. and the downtown city park and work on our laptops while enjoying a bite to eat and an adult beverage.
I’m not really sure why but we haven’t been in a long time but we recently changed that and took Sammy with us. They changed the patio a bit by adding a wood bar that actually faces Spring St., perfect for watching the world go by and for people watching.
It was a beautiful day and Erik, the bartender/ waiter that took care of us, was awesome. The service was perfect, the food was great, the drinks flowed, and the views were the cherry on top. Here’s what we ate:
Caesar Salad – hearts of romaine, parmeggiano Reggiano, sourdough croutons, housemade signature Caesar dressing. $11.00 We added chicken for $5.00
Steak Bites – grilled top sirloin, garlic sourdough bread, chipotle aioli, tomato and shallot salad. $14.00
Fish Tacos – rock cod with shredded cabbage, julienne radish, smoked chipotle aioli, pepper jack cheese, fresh citrus, black beans. $15.00
The three of us shared all of this and it was all really good. The steak bites dish was unique and was probably my favorite…great flavor. You can see photos of the dishes and views, below. All that said, I’m glad we went, Cattlemen’s is back on our radar and we will certainly be back!
