Facebook Meet-up @Ortman Family Tasting Room

August 23, 2010 matt 6 Comments

What’s a Facebook Meet-up you say?  Well, here’s what it is:

– People with like interests gathering in the same place.

– Wine lovers coming together to to taste and discuss.

– Those passionate about connecting via new avenues, like Social Media, in order to build a larger more global community.

William Allen, of the Simple Hedonisms blog out of Sonoma County, organized the event as a way to get more familiar with the Paso Robles wine circle.  The very gracious Ortman Family hosted this event, right in the downtown area of Paso Robles…known for their rich family history in winemaking as well as celebrating the release of their fresh new second label, the perfect location for this event.  There were locals, non-locals, people in the wine business, people in the communications business, and local bloggers (yeah, us).  This was a blending of good old fashioned small town networking, fueled by leading edge communications technology and held together with wine, food and hospitality.  We think it was a success and we’ll be helping to facilitate more of these events in the coming months!
