Cooking with Annie: Easy Peasy Pork Chile Verde

February 20, 2017 matt Leave a Comment

We’ve told you before how much we love tacos. And we weren’t lying. I worked up a new (new to me) way to make super easy Pork Chile Verde. If you want it fast, this is your ticket. Oh, and they rule on a nice, warm homemade tortilla, which you can check out how to make right here.

What you’ll need:

  – Pork Loin Roast, trimmed and cut into bite-sized pieces

  – 18oz jar of Salsa Verde (tomatillo-based green salsa)

  – 2-4 Tablespoons Olive Oil

  – Garlic Salt to taste

  – Oregano to taste

  – Cumin to taste

  – Tortillas (homemade or otherwise)

What to do:

Heat a sauté pan over high heat with the olive oil until very hot. Add the pork. Let it cook until the liquid cooks out. Now, season the meat and let the pieces brown on all sides. Turn down the heat, and slowly add the salsa. Fill the salsa jar 1/2 way with water, replace the lid, shake and pour that valuable salsa water into the pan. Let it all simmer over low heat until the meat is tender, about 20 minutes. Guess what? It’s done! Eat it!!!
