I Have a Confession to Make

April 25, 2014 Annie 3 Comments

no-excusesConfession: I suck.

There, I said it and it’s true. Here I’ve been running around preaching how to ‘be healthy’ and ‘eat real food’ and ‘get all up in the CrossFit thing’, and meanwhile I’ve been skipping workouts, eating Cheetos ( they were baked, but still) and complaining about my body. I’ve come up with all kinds of reasons and excuses for not getting my ass in gear and it has to stop! I’m not happy, I don’t feel good, and I’m tired of not being the wife/mom/person that I want to be.

So, first of all I need to handle business and give a huge “THANK YOU” to my husband for gently (sort of gently) giving me the hard cold truth about what he sees me doing these days. He hears me talk about what I want to be doing, hears me complaining about my body, sees the Cheeto dust on my shirt, and watches while I flake out on it all. He doesn’t much like it either. He’s a huge supporter of me, whatever it is that I decide to do (as long as I actually DO it). He’s always ready to take one for the team so I can get to my workout, and most importantly, he doesn’t sugarcoat anything or coddle me when I’m being a huge wuss. So there you have it; thanks for kicking my proverbial ass, Matt! I love you!

I’m sure you’re on pins and needles waiting to hear what I’m going to do…right?!?!?! Well, here goes, here’s the plan that goes into effect immediately:

– CrossFit 5 times a week. No excuses. No wusses.

– Clean, REAL food. Plan it, stock it, prep it, eat it. No biggie.

– Share my experience. Blog it, Tweet it, maybe even be on of those people that talks about my workout on Facebook! If I can inspire anyone to live up to their expectations for themselves, then I’ll be ecstatic!!!

– Be happy. Sounds easy, right? It’s not easy when you’re not living the way you want to live. This changes NOW!

There you have it. You know too much about me now and I’m glad. No more sucking at life and no more excuses. It’s time to get busy feeling good and being happy!!!

Now, what’s your confession???

Yep….ditto for me too! After finishing the quilt last night I just had to have the last three frozen chocolate covered cherries that were just hang in’ in the freezer not bothering anyone~but I felt I needed ‘a treat’ for finishing that quilt! So we all need to be resolute to get our excercise, eat healthy and be HAPPY> I am pretty much always happy, except for the guilt with those damn cherries!!!! Cheers to you Annie!!! Love ya.

Superb blog you have here but I was wondering if you knew of any discussion boards that cover
the same topics talked about in this article?

I’d really love to be a part of group where I can get opinions from other experienced
individuals that share the same interest.
If you have any recommendations, please let me know.
    Bless you!

About Me

I’m a 40-something year old new mom who happens to be somewhat addicted to working out and imperfectly “eating healthy”. This is my safe place to share my journey…and give you a little insight into what goes on inside this mostly-sane brain.

Not enough scoop on me? Well, I love the ocean, sushi, chocolate cake and wine (not necessarily in that order or all together). I partake in the occasional cigar with my handsome, loving, and opinionated husband. We had a pretty awesome baby boy named Samuel Liberty, aka Sammy on October 12, 2012 and are enjoying the crazy, challenging, incredible journey of life with a new little being in our house!
